1. Gaining new friends and meeting new people, its been a crazy mess of a year. Atlanta people, Alabama people, new Chattanooga heads [people that I have met this year] like Justin Casey, Myles, Bassel, Ben, John Daugherty, Phillip Allen, John Moore the coolest house dj in town, and all the cool cats out there you know who you are. Hopefully we all stay cool and work this city right.
2. Momma’s Boy - Give It Up - okay. Momma’s Boy / Mikix the Cat really did it for me this year. This track is always fun to hear on the loud speakers.
3. The Li’l Wayne documentary was very interesting. I respect him as an artist that simply doesn’t try at all, but just comes from the heart.
4. Converge - Axe To Fall - Great hardcore metal album for all you heads. This album pushes Converge to their limits and even changes things up a bit with very interesting tracks, some even featuring Scott Kelly of Neurosis.
5. Realizing apathy is a slow killer of self esteem. You have to get mad at life instead of letting it bring you down.
6. Untold - KINGDOM EP - This EP was played alot over the summer. I was introduced to this big time UK producer by good DJ buddy Owen of Atl Dubstep. Untold is the future of dubstep music.
7. MOBB DEEP - SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST. My favorite hip hop record to listen to all year.
8. 423 Bragging Rights - for being the most bad ass photography team in Chattanooga.
9. JACK DANIELS - for getting party right, every time.
10. SLUGGO’S - Awesome vegan punk rock restaurant on Frazier. Try the Philly or the Turkey sandwich. Or the vegan chicken and dumplings.
